Financial advisers are the most trusted source of advice on equity release planning
According to the Retirement Savings & Income Report 2009 financial advisers are the most trusted source of advice on equity release planning. Financial advisers once again came above friends and family for those looking to receive financial advice.
Wealth Management Consultant, Matt Ward, stated: "This result is positive news indeed for the IFA sector and, given the improvements to professionalism encouraged by the FSA's Retail Distribution Review (RDR) roadmap, ensures that consumers will be able to continue to rely on IFAs as a trusted source of advice for retirement planning."
Louise Tilston of Ashall Glover Financial Services added “By using independent financial advisers, consumers looking to explore equity release can ensure that the advice they receive is regulated and accurate. The complexity of many products means that it is vital to consult an independent adviser when considering equity release.”
